Steele in the News
1983 – Series 1, Episode 18
The agency is hired by a TV news studio to investigate the accidents on the set. The cover is an interview with the famous Remington Steele, but the researcher begins to dig a little deep into his non-existent past. Then some of the presenters are murdered and all the evidence points to everyone else. As usual, Steele solves the crime without knowing why. Good, consistent episode.

1983 – Series 1, Episode 21
An old friend enlists the help of Remington Steele to turn the tables on a crooked casino boss out for revenge. Shades of The Rockford Files, as they devise an elaborate con to solve the situation. Tension between Laura and Steele builds when the old friend romances Abigail (Laura’s mom). Great, non-standard episode.
Steele in Circulation
1983 – Series 1, Episode 22
Steele stops a man from jumping off a bridge and discovers that he had “borrowed” 2.3 million (the smallest they had) from the Federal Reserve Bank, only to have it stolen. Now that he can’t put it back after the weekend, everything is over. They decide to investigate and uncover an ingenious theft. Wonderful episode, with Murphy’s girlfriend hilarious as she tags along and pulls rabbit after rabbit out of her hat.
